This page isdesigned to assist the cadets who are enrolled in the Yuba College Public Safety recertification acadamy to better understand Learning Domain 25, Dealing with and properly documenting Domestic Violence in the State of California.  This page will provied a review of the Domestic Violence Leture provied to students on September 21, 2000.

  • Instructional Objectives:
  • Students should understand the historical impact of domestic violence.
  • Students should recognize symptoms of victimology as it applies to womem, Children and the abuser.
  • Students will be able to apply legal definitions and terminology in proper reporting of domestic violence.
  • Students should have a working knowledge of the laws that assist to prevent, detect and or arrest domestic violence offenders.
  • Students should have a working knowledge of proper investigative techniques and employ proper documentation of domestic violence.
  • Students should have a working knowledge of domestic violence protective orders.
  • Students should be able to demonstrate local and state referal information provided to victims of domestic violence.
  • Student will demonstrate a complete understanding of weapon siezure in cases of domestic violence.

    Mastery of student knowledge will be assessed by a pre-test and a comprehensive test administered by P.O.S.T.
